Practical Accounting - ACCT101
Miracosta Acct 101: Directed toward students preparing for ACCT 201 and the bookkeeping and accounting certificates, this course covers record keeping for sole proprietorships in service and trade businesses, including worksheets, adjusting and closing journal entries, payroll, cash reconciliation, and preparation of financial statements. Practical problems are stressed, and students are required to complete an accounting practice set for a company.
For this course you will use the required book
College Accounting 11th edition, Slater, AND access to
MyAccountingLab via MyLabs. Assignments are done in MyAccountingLab and in
Blackboard. You may purchase the Book and MyAccountinglab Access bundle from the college bookstore. Or you may purchase the Ebook and MyAccountingLab access directly from MyLabs. If you are purchasing directly from MyLabs, you must wait until the first day of class when the Course ID is available. Do not try to purchase on-line before the course starts as there are several options and you might purchase the wrong book bundle. You will need the Course ID to register into the course and purchase the access directly. Once you have the course ID you will be able to
register. Syllabus & Course Calendar will be available on BlackBoard when the course opens.
